Mac Tips|How to stop iCloud from syncing a folder?

In the process of using iCloud, it is inevitable that you will encounter some folders that you do not want to synchronize. For example, for game production, video clips and other project files, the continuous synchronization mechanism of iCloud will make some files in these folders continue to be uploaded and unavailable. Today, the editor brought you a way to prevent iCloud from syncing a folder, let’s take a look!
Solution
At this time, you only need to rename the folder you don't want to synchronize, and add ".nosync" to its file name. As shown in the figure below, we call this thing a flag to tell iCloud not to touch this folder and its sub-files.
As shown in the figure below, the marked folder will show that iCloud is not available, which is exactly what we want. If you want it to synchronize again, just delete ".nosync".

At this time, you will see an additional option "Prohibit Sync" in the right-click menu. Click it to automatically add the ".nosync" flag to the folder to prohibit synchronization. To restore synchronization, just rename and delete the flag in the same way. Some project files are more sensitive to file names Insert picture description hereafter the text.
Renaming the root folder directly may cause some file search errors. It is recommended to create a folder that is forbidden to synchronize in iCloud first, and then put the folders you don’t want to synchronize. Here, it is more secure.
