Good morning Windy. Apologies for only responding now. It’s been a very busy morning. We covered fractions before Stanley began in January. I have also attached a powerpoint about fractions to this email and I will have Lily send you a short video describing fractions to you on WeChat. If you view the powerpoint and video first with Stanley, this will help to consolidate simple fractions before he attempts the questions on Myimaths.
With regards to the questions on sweets, where it says what is half and a quarter, you need to look at the total number of sweets (denominator) and then divide, or group them, into 2’s, or half. So 38 ÷ 2 = 19. You may want to help Stanley by modelling how many groups do we have when we take 38 sweets and group them into 2’s. Hope this helps.
