emphatic adj.

  1. ADJ-GRADED An emphatic response or statement is one made in a forceful way, because the speaker feels very strongly about what they are saying.
  2. ADJ-GRADED If you are emohatic about something, you are use forceful language which shows that you feel very strongly about what you are saying.
  3. ADJ-GRADED An emphatic win or victory is one in which the winner has own by a large amount or sidtance.

attrition n.

  1. N-UNCOUNT Attrition is a process in which you steadily reduce the strength of an enemy by continually attacking them.
  2. N-UNCOUNT At a university or place of work, attrition is the decrease in the number of students or employees caused by people leaving and not being replaced.
