Children should obey some rules at school or home. Strict discipline maybe important, but I think that it can make an impact on the ability of children's solving problems.
Rule could make children take responsibility for their behaviors, which can shape children's correct behavior. Generally speaking, children don't know what their behaviors will cause, while they will realize how to become a person suited for the society by these rules. For example, children could learn how to show good manners and how to be friendly to others, which are important for their future adult life. If no rules are used to ban children's rubbish words or bullying, they won't know how to response to the social relationship among adults.
In some cases, rules may not make an good effect on children's growth, if those parents that make strict rules think highly of children's obedience. Children rely on rules seriously to make decision, so that they won't solve problems independently. Too strict rules lead to that children can't plan their time, they don't know what they can do if parents don't assign task to them. It's hard for children to get success in future by this.
Obey rules can restrain children's imagination and make children can't solve problems by more problems.
Children don't dare to try their opinions, beacuse they are scare of punishment of refusing to obey rules. Such as that if students are instructed to work out a math qusetion by one mathod, few of students will try to find new methods. These problems we will face in the work are very difficult, it's very hard for those people who have none of creativity.
