Work needs to migrate the virtual machine on the Esxi server to Hyper-V. I found a lot of information on the Internet and tried the following:
1. MVMC tool, this tool is from Microsoft, but only supports Esxi5. My 6.7 does not. , So it fails.
2. Synology virtual machine backup and restore, if it is Esxi using this backup, it is really convenient, I want to restore Esxi backup to Hyper-V, but it does not prompt me to 2016 system or above, or WinRM service is not installed, I feel that only Hyper-V is supported -V 2016 or above. So this gave up.
3. The native method, encapsulate the system in the virtual machine, ghost backup, and restore to the virtual machine in Hyper-V, but I tried one, the steps are troublesome and time-consuming, so I gave up.
4. With StarWind V2V Converter, this software is very easy to use, because of various problems. (Finally adopted, I will summarize the problems encountered in the middle)
a. Most of the Internet uses a single file of a virtual machine as an example, so don't think about downloading a single file and transferring it to another virtual Machine platform, it can kill you in the middle, and it takes a lot of time. After the transfer, you have to create a virtual machine and add disks. If you don't use enough time, you will give up.
b. Either even Esxi reports an error or even Hyper-V reports an error. Pay attention to the version of the firewall and V2V (the latest version is at the end of the article). If the Hyper-V server does not add a domain, the format when entering the account password is server hostname\account , For example: server\administrator
c. During the transfer, the progress bar "swish" to 100%, but the server view only the virtual machine host information, there is no virtual machine disk file. The reason is that there is no default sharing. For example, if your virtual machine files are placed on the D drive, you must ensure that there is a D$ sharing. I don't know what the situation is for a long time.
