1. How to write papers for O and F awards?
If you want O and F awards, you need a summary with sufficient information , as well as insight into the nature of the problem , clear thinking, technical content, and a convincing test of the modeling process.
The analysis of advantages and disadvantages is that you can't just praise yourself, and you should say where the model is wrong . If someone wants to use your model, they will pay attention to this problem. It also needs a practical conclusion, which is also a bonus point, or there is no need.
I have read an analysis of the national competition before, which is about data processing, which seems to be related to ophthalmology beds. It requires a normal distribution test step. Many papers don’t have it, so just take the data and do it directly, and the final result is not easy to say. But the teams that did the normal distribution test scored well. Because the papers that pay attention to this point are more consistent with the rules on the whole.
The difference between the Meisai and the national competition is that the higher the award level, the more the number of reviews, the Meisai O and F awards are definitely higher than the first prize of the national competition. I used to think that the gold content of Meisai was low because the winning rate was too high. I will study these things carefully later.
For general awards, Meisai is not that difficult. So everyone must have confidence, such as the M award and the H award, which are rougher than the national competition. Don't worry too much.
2. How to write model assumptions?
We have summarized the structure of the paper, the general rules are:
Introduction is the introduction part, the background needs to be briefly stated. The restatement of the problem is what the topic requires you to do, and then refine it. This has no technical content. After deciding on the topic selection, the students who write the thesis, because there is no model result, can write a restatement of the problem first, don't spend too much time on it.
Model assumptions are an important part of scoring. You have to be able to distinguish primary and secondary, and ignore some secondary ones. For example, in the mechanics of middle and high schools, they all ignore some things, sometimes they ignore friction, and sometimes they don't. If the problem is too complicated, friction will be ignored, otherwise you will not be able to do it, which is probably what it means.
You have to learn to simplify, the problem is simplified well, and the modeling will be easy. And when the reviewer sees you simplifying it this way, it will feel that you have insight into the core of the problem and know what is the main and what is the second, so you have to omit the details and rationally.
But if you don't have any explanation, just ignore the friction force. After that, you will not consider the friction force in the full text, which is wrong because you did not explain it. So this is very important to pay attention to.
Notation is a symbol description. You can't cover the whole article, just introduce a symbol. Some commonly used symbols are explained at the beginning, and they can be used directly below, which is also easy for readers to read.
3. How to write the main body of the paper?
There is no specific layout for the main part . Although it is the main body, the writing requirements are not the highest. Just follow the basic mode to describe, there are several basic modes:
First, analyze the problem and abstract out the problem. Then, based on the abstracted problem, propose a model, remember to use the standard mathematical language.
Model solving , I usually participate directly in this part, because I solve the problem. I directly write the algorithm ideas of my programming, which is more logical and easier to clarify.
Whether the results are displayed and analyzed thoroughly is a highlight. Don’t make a good picture. The picture is too good to look at, and then you don’t care. After the picture is finished, you must give a summary analysis or two of the last sentence, otherwise others will not know what you are doing.
Finally, there are strengths and weaknesses , which can put a lot of things. For example, error analysis and evaluation can be placed here. Promotion is like, for example, the scoring criteria just mentioned mention the practical meaning, but your topic is too theoretical, you can find a realistic example, to promote it, it shows that I tried this example, the effect is good. Or if you don't have enough time, don't run the program directly, just draw the pie, you can say what my model can be used for, this is called promotion.
Free play is really what you want to do, because it is free, so it is also a point that is easier to shine. It varies from topic to topic and has no universality.
But there are these precautions: the advantages are not blowing, and you should not scold the disadvantages too harshly. If there are shortcomings everywhere, your article is not good, then you directly UI is unqualified. Error analysis and sensitivity analysis are very necessary. Basically, as long as you set the data yourself, you must have sensitivity analysis . Errors can depend on the situation. This is called model verification . You can go and search to verify the conventional methods of the model. If you can't think of promotion and free play, don't do it. It may be self-defeating.
4. How to write the abstract of the paper?
References : Charts, documents, opinions, as long as they are not original by you, put them in the appendix, beware of DQ. Appendices are optional, and some schools do have them, but the instructor of our school uniformly said not to put appendices, so we didn't put anything.
Summary is the top priority, especially in the first few rounds of screening, which basically determines whether you need to read the article. The precautions for writing a summary are to clearly describe the solution to each sub-problem and show the most important conclusions. What we have done and what our results are. Let’s analyze it again, and we must use these three-stage routines.
Be careful not to put diagrams or formulas. This is the basic requirement for a paper abstract. Don't think the chart formula is good-looking, just put it directly in the summary, no.Write the summary at the end, because the model is completely over at the end, it is better to write at this time. Don't write at the beginning, at the beginning, you may have to add or delete it. If you use word, it will be even more troublesome.
We have a trick, the little trick is multiple summaries .
First, write the summary in accordance with the literature specifications , and then the article is a manuscript for the magazine. You can try to write it. If you don’t ask for some topics, just leave it alone. If you think the article is well written, like us, put all the pictures we think are good-looking. We thought it was good, so we posted it directly to the front so that the review teacher could see it first. There is also our work , using the method of mind mapping to repeat the summary or the overall process again.
After reading these three things, the review teacher basically knows what we are doing. If they think it's good, they continue to look down. The arrangement of multiple abstracts is also for the teacher’s convenience. I feel that if I were a teacher and saw such a convenient abstract, at least I would not give him an S, at least I would give him an award. The paper made me so comfortable.
