Preface
In "Playing with ArrayFire: 01 Getting Started Is Giving Up", we have learned what ArrayFire is and its characteristics. The so-called "workers who want to do well must first sharpen their tools", in this article, mainly introduces the installation and environment configuration of ArrayFire under Windows system.
1. ArrayFire download
ArrayFire can support Windows, OSX and Linux systems, as well as building from source code . According to the ArrayFire official website, they recommend that we use pre-compiled binaries because they contain the Intel Math kernel library, which can accelerate linear algebra functions. Therefore, we can directly download the ArrayFire installer suitable for our operating system through the official website .
Two, ArrayFire installation
- Run ArrayFire.exe as an administrator;
- Enter the installation interface, you can modify the installation path and customize the installation components according to your personal needs. In general, you can directly click "Next" until the installation is complete;
Three, ArrayFire environment configuration
- From the path "Computer -> Properties -> Advanced System Settings -> Environment Variables -> System Variables", you can see that after ArrayFire is successfully installed, the following three system variables will be added to the environment variables. If not, you need to add them manually. The left side is the variables Name, on the right is the corresponding ArrayFire installation path;
- Find the "PATH" in the system variables, double-click to open, create a new environment variable "C:\Program Files\ArrayFire\v3\lib", and click OK.
