Smart Device Configuration Package

When creating or opening a Smart Device project in VS2005, I get the following errors: "Error retrieving information from the user data store. The system did not find the specified object." and "Because the device platform referenced by the project does not exist in the data store, Therefore the project cannot be opened."

When opening the "Tools" - "Device Emulator Manager" of VS2005, the following error is prompted: "Failed to load the package "Smart Device Configuration Package" correctly ( GUID = {D245F354-3F45-4516-B1E6 -04608DA126CC} ). Please contact the package vendor for assistance. Restarting the application is recommended due to possible environmental corruption. Do you want to suppress future loading of this package? Package loading can be re-enabled using "devenv /resetskippkgs".

" Here's how: 1. Close VS2005 2. Rename the folder "c:/Documents and Settings/<user>/Local Settings/Application Data/Microsoft/CoreCon/1.0", this will remove all customizations about device configuration properties, 3 . Restart VS2005 and rebuild the above configuration.

Try Shutting down VS and renaming the following directory: "c:/Documents and Settings/ <user>/Local Settings/Application Data/Microsoft/CoreCon/1.0" This will delete any customization of the device configuration properties in your user directory but it should recreate this the next time you launch VS.
