The preview version of Windows Terminal has been updated to version 1.18, which brings a lot of useful content. Let's take a look at the new things in this version:
Label tearing (drag and drop function)
Windows Terminal already supports dragging and dropping tabs to make them independent windows:
You can also move tabs from one terminal window to another
Right-click context menu (experimental feature)
Total paste, split pane, copy tab and close tab
It is currently an experimental feature and needs to be manually enabled. To manually enable this feature, add the following to the section of the section :settings.json
profiles
defaults
"experimental.rightClickContextMenu": "true"
Environment variables are automatically updated
Windows Terminal will now automatically reload environment variables when opening a new tab or pane .
Instead of closing the terminal completely after installing something and changing the PATH, just open a new tab, or restart the current one.
Atlas engine improvements
Improvements to the currently experimental text rendering engine AtlasEngine.
A lot less weird gaps, cut off glyphs, and inexplicably shrunken glyphs.

portable mode
Windows Terminal supports deployment in "portable mode", ensuring that all data created and maintained by Windows Terminal is kept alongside the application, making it easier to move across different environments.
Portable mode allows you to take or archive a preconfigured installation of Windows Terminal and run it from a network share, cloud drive or USB stick. Any portable installation is self-contained and does not interfere with other installed Windows terminal distributions.
Portable mode needs to be enabled manually: create a file named beside it, a directory named after startup will be created automatically , the directory will store settings and runtime state, such as window layout.WindowsTerminal.exe
.portable
