1 Introduction

This document describes the test case self-certification that must be successfully completed prior to submission.

2 requirements

When executing the AirPlay test cases below, please ensure that your Mac and iOS devices have the latest released version of the operating system installed. For certification submissions, the latest released macOS version is defined as being available for 30 days or more. Please refer to the AirPlay specific section of the MFI Portal for more information on submission requirements. Also, it is highly recommended that these tests be executed in parallel with the latest available developer seed.

Important Notes:
• The AirPlay Receiver will be referred to as "Receiver" or DUT, an acronym for Device Under
Test.
• AirPlay products require an OTA (over-the-air) firmware update process.
• The tests listed in this document must be performed on all supported network interfaces.

3 configuration requirements

Hardware and software are required to complete all certification test cases:

Minimum:
• 2 iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch devices running iOS 14.1
- to test various combinations of AirPlay, mirroring, and HomeKit scenarios
- one test device must be an iPhone XS or newer
• 1 HomePod

  • Testing audio quality and synchronization in a grouped audio setup
    • 1 macOS device, running macOS 10.14.5
  • Run macOS-based test applications, as well as AirPlay, mirroring and HomeKit scenarios
    • 2 receivers (DUT)
  • Submit certified receiver device and firmware version
    • Provided
