Positive Technologies has become a member of the Association of Asian Antivirus Researchers (AVAR)

Malware investigators from Positive Technologies are once again recognized globally. The company becomes the first Russian organization to be accepted by AVAR, one of the world's most reputable associations for malware researchers. AVAR consists of some of the information security market leaders from Japan, India, Korea, China and other Asian countries, mainly in the field of anti-virus protection.

Alexey Vishnyakov, Head of the Malware Detection Team at Positive Technologies, commented:  " Joining the association will help us make the most of the prestigious AVAR conference, opening up new opportunities to participate in other international events, exchange information, and connect with companies from this promising region Colleagues build and strengthen connections.

The more connections we make, the more information we will receive about malware encountered in Asia. Each region has its own characteristics. We are ready to share our findings and knowledge in the field of malware detection, as well as our approach to the hunting, detection, assessment and prioritization of threats, with our new colleagues. Ultimately, this beneficial exchange has a positive impact on the quality of our products as we use our accumulated expertise to fine-tune our solutions. It is encouraging that at critical moments, experts from different countries can join forces for the common good ."

AVAR, in turn, welcomed Positive Technologies, noting that the company's presence in the association offers opportunities to expand mutual cooperation and will help strengthen cybersecurity at a global level.

Founded in 1998, AVAR is an independent non-profit organization that aims to prevent the spread and damage caused by malware by facilitating cooperation among anti-malware experts in Asia. AVAR is composed of distinguished experts from 17 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia, China, India, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, the United States and now Russia.
