The targets that trigger lateral AEB include laterally moving pedestrians and cyclists (including pedestrians on bicycles, motorcycles, battery cars and self-balancing vehicles).
1.3.7.2.4 Brake prefill
The purpose of the pre-filling of the brake system is to achieve a faster braking reaction. In the braking system, there is a gap between the brake pad and the brake disc to prevent premature wear of the brake pad. The existence of this gap will take time for the two to contact during emergency braking, which will affect the braking distance of the system. Brake prefill moves the brake pads to the disc without applying braking force, providing a faster response to braking requests.
When the AEB system detects that strong braking is required to avoid danger, the AEB system will request the brake system to prefill, and send a prefill signal "ACC_PrefillActive" to the ESP for filling status. After receiving this signal, the ESP will adjust the distance between the brake pad and the brake disc to the minimum, so as to prepare for braking faster after receiving the brake command issued by the early warning auxiliary brake system or the driver depressing the brake pedal. Brake prefill is performed and stopped as quickly as possible, at
