Software and hardware preparation
Software: VMware (16 pro): Alibaba Cloud Disk Sharing .
Hardware: Because the virtualization software VMware is running on the host machine to install centos, there are certain requirements for the configuration of the host machine. At least i5 CPU dual-core, hard disk 500G, memory 4G or more.
Mirror: CentOS7, download address http://isoredirect.centos.org/centos/7/isos/x86_64 , Alibaba’s mirror is recommended, click to download.
Note: It is recommended to install a 64-bit Linux system. And explain each version of the ISO image file:
- CentOS-7.0-x86_64-DVD-1503-01.iso : Standard installation version, generally download this (recommended)
- CentOS-7.0-x86_64-NetInstall-1503-01.iso : Network installation image (install from the network or rescue system)
- CentOS-7.0-x86_64-Everything-1503-01.iso : Supplements the software on the full version installation disk and integrates all software. (Contains a complete set of software packages for centos7, which can be used to install the system or fill local images)
- CentOS-7.0-x86_64-GnomeLive-1503-01.iso : GNOME desktop version
- CentOS-7.0-x86_64-KdeLive-1503-01.iso : KDE desktop version
- CentOS-7.0-x86_64-livecd-1503-01.iso : a system running on a CD, similar to winpe
- CentOS-7.0-x86_64-minimal-1503-01.iso : streamlined version with the least built-in software
VMware installation
VMware can simulate a complete network environment on a physical machine and a portable virtual machine. It is a powerful desktop virtual computer software. VMware allows users to run two or more systems simultaneously on one machine to develop, test, and deploy new applications.

For the installation of VMware, except that the installation cannot be done on the C drive, other options are default. Just follow the steps and keep clicking Next. Wait for a while and the installation is completed.
After the installation is completed, it prompts that the license (key) needs to be permanently activated. You can find this on Baidu in one click. Just copy the key and the VMware installation is completed.
Virtual machine installation
Use VMware to create a new virtual machine. A virtual machine refers to a complete computer system with complete hardware system functions simulated through software and running in a completely isolated environment. Work that can be done on a physical computer can be achieved in a virtual machine.

First open VMware, create a virtual machine, click on the file in the upper left corner to create a new virtual machine:

Here, select the client operating system that needs to be installed as Linux, and the version is CentOS 7 64-bit.
It depends on what version of Linux you have installed. I installed GenOS 7.9 64-bit, so I chose GenOS7 64-bit.
Here you can rename the virtual machine and select the installation path. Don’t put the c drive. Next step
It is recommended to choose the number of processors and cores based on your own processor conditions. I have 4 cores and 4 threads, so I will choose 2 or 1 here. It depends on your own situation.
Select 2GB of memory, which is generally enough for daily use, and then click Next.

Click Finish
The virtual machine installation is completed. For custom hardware, you can select the memory size and number of processors of the virtual machine.
CentOS 7 installation
Note: During the installation of the operating system, you can press Ctrl+Alt to switch from the virtual machine to the normal desktop.
Click "Edit Virtual Machine Settings":
Select the mirror location and click OK
Click to start the virtual machine

After counting the seconds, the interface as shown in the figure will be displayed. Pull to the bottom to select Chinese, and then select Simplified Chinese. Then click continue
Here is the modification of the installation method. Minimum installation only has a command line interface. Click Minimum installation. Select the GNOME desktop and click Finish.
Choose not to enable KDUMP. Enabling it will occupy memory.
For the installation location, just click on it and click Finish. Otherwise, you won’t be allowed to install it.
Click on the network connection to start surfing the Internet

Then wait for the installation to complete. Wait for the progress bar below to finish.
After installation, click Restart
Wait for the restart to complete and receive the protocol.
Complete configuration
Configuration completed. Just skip the welcome interface and privacy can be turned off.
