VM ESXi password reset

Use the original disk method to reset the password, applicable to all versions of VM ESXi

1. Use the same image file as the server system to burn into the U disk or CD

2. Restart the server and enter the BIOS, set the startup item to U disk or CD boot, save the settings and restart

3. After entering the installation interface, select the "ESXi-6.0.0" option

4. In the installation interface, press Enter

5. Press F11 to agree and continue.

6. Select the local disk for installation. Next, if there are multiple disks, select the one where the operating system was installed before. If you don’t remember which one, the default is usually the top one. If you select the hard disk, the following operations are different from this operation. Same, please go back as soon as possible and stop the installation

7. Since it is an overlay installation, it will prompt "ESXi and VMFS Found" and give three installation mode options.

Be the first to upgrade ESXi and keep data files

The second one installs ESXi and keeps the data files

The third installs ESXi and overwrites the data files.

Since you only need to reset the password, choose the second installation mode here. Do not choose the third one. Remember! ! !

You must press the space bar here to move x to select the second item! !

 8. Select the language and leave it as default.

9. Start resetting the password, enter the password according to the password rules, and then press Enter

10. Continue to the next step to install until prompted to restart.

11. Press Enter to restart to complete the reset.
