[Modeling Notes] Shield shortcut key conflicts between chrome and modeling software

When we are in dual-screen mode, one screen uses Blender to model, and the other screen uses Chrome to open the reference/tutorial video. Sometimes the video is paused in order to capture the details.

At this time, if we are in editing mode and want to use ctrl + r to achieve equal circle cutting and sliding, if we forget to switch back to the blender interface, it will often directly cause chrome to refresh the current page. Sometimes refreshing may cause the playback position of the video to change, or even start playing from scratch.

Repeating this behavior many times will most likely lead to a rapid spike in blood pressure, affecting work efficiency.

This is caused by the conflict between the shortcut keys of chrome and blender. Obviously we already have several shortcut keys that can be used to refresh the chrome page, so our only goal is to block the role of ctrl r in chrome.

When the user angrily wanted to turn off Chrome's shortcut keys, he searched in the settings and found that the relevant settings had been removed long ago.

Good guy, you are playing monkey across the street.

Since normal means are not possible, we use plug-ins to achieve our needs.

There are several plug-ins that can block chrome shortcuts, such as disable keyborad shortcuts.

After installing the plug-in, we can directly type ctrl r in the configuration interface to achieve blocking. And the blocking only takes effect on chrome, and the corresponding shortcut key functions of other software are still normal.

In addition, the plug-in can also select a global blocking strategy to completely say goodbye to the interruption of this shortcut key.

Now we can enjoy dual-screen modeling.
