Some trivial things in September, but worth recording!

It obviously feels like time flies by so fast. I was still writing a summary of August last month, and it will be September soon.

September is relatively busy, but very fulfilling. Maybe starting your own business and doing things will give you more motivation.

1.

The biggest thing in September is that my daughter starts going to kindergarten. This is a happy thing because the old father can relax (although I didn’t do anything, it’s all thanks to my wife).

On the first day, everyone else refused to go to kindergarten. She was afraid of going to kindergarten late and crying, so she was unwilling to leave the kindergarten to cry after school.

Just when I thought my daughter was really talented and so mature and sensible, she stopped going to kindergarten in the second week.

Every day I have to take him downstairs to play before going to kindergarten.

Damn, think about it, you are only 2 years old. . .

2.

Recently I have discovered that there are a lot of things to learn and I am interested in many things. Among them, I need to learn English well to increase the depth and breadth of my own information. Especially with the arrival of GPT, many things can be redone with AI.

3.

My cousin signed up for the computer major and successfully enrolled in it. 10 years ago, I went against all the opinions and majored in computer science. 10 years later, I still feel that computer science is a relatively good major that ordinary people can access. As long as you work hard, you can get results. It requires talent.

If your friends and relatives don’t have any better choices, you can choose the computer industry. It won’t make you rich, but you won’t go hungry. It’s not the legendary sinkhole major.

4.

I received several gifts in September:

  1. One is a science fiction work by teacher "Shunyu", "The Fourth Side". Students who like science fiction can pay attention to it.

  2. One is a Guizhou mooncake that sells for 200 million yuan, a gift from Brother Xiaolong, and a customized mooncake from Brother Miao. Thank you.

  3. One is the "On the Moon" suitcase given by the Turing community. It contains tea, lamps, candles, plants, etc. It's very interesting. When I got it home, my son and daughter started fighting with each other over who should own the "suitcase", hahahaha.

5.

In September, the company logo was completed. Thanks to my designer friend, it is very artistic. It looks like we are a serious company. The design is very high-end and does not feel like a copycat.

designer says:

The graphic logo uses programming code: </>, combined with pixel flat graphics, which is easier to identify and can adapt to different applications. At the same time, pixels are the smallest details of images and screens, and also symbolize the pursuit of excellence in work.

The color blue-purple gradient has a sense of future and innovation, and the cold color system is more stable.

If you want to do something related to logo, I can recommend my friend 70 to you.

6.

In September, I recruited a new intern partner, and the team continued to expand a little bit. The office will no longer be able to accommodate us, and we have to change offices again.

If you have knowledge about self-media, IT field, side hustle, entrepreneurship and other related fields, you can come and communicate, maybe we can become colleagues.

I share some of my thoughts every day on WeChat:pengtaotalk

Please make a note as clearly as possible because my account is almost full.

7.

A sense of ritual in work and life is still very necessary. I recently designed a logo and an acrylic door plate. When I enter the company every day, I feel like I have to do something. It reminds me to talk less and do more.

To be honest, I am obviously much more serious about my work this year than in previous years. Both my work enthusiasm and work efficiency have improved a lot, and I have obviously done a lot more projects.

Maybe I discovered more interesting things, maybe I found a good partner, maybe my team members have more responsibilities, and I feel full of energy when I go to work every day.

This feeling has not appeared for a long time except for the enthusiasm of "just learning programming" that stays up all night.

8.

Speaking of the sense of ritual, to be honest, I never understood why my mother would be angry because she didn’t call home during the Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.

After I had children, I felt more and more that if I didn't live with them, there would be only a handful of opportunities to meet and communicate with each other in a year. Maybe only this sense of ritual can connect us together, just like when my grandfather was still alive. Every year during the Chinese New Year, we hold "ancestral worship and Buddha worship" and pray a lot to the gods to protect our family's safety and success.

Over the years, I began to record every time my children grew up, whether they cried or laughed, whether it was taking photos, videos or articles. I began to take every "festival" seriously and began to record their "firsts".

Therefore, in the short video era, even if you don’t use it as a side job to make money, learning to shoot and edit videos is still a very important skill.

9.

There were a little more things in September, mainly studying finance-related content. I read an entrepreneurial book "Magic Entrepreneurship" and I had a deep feeling.

Some excerpts:

  1. Find the intersection between what you're passionate about and what others are willing to buy, remember that you're probably good at more than one thing, and combine hobby and usefulness to create a real career—no matter where you end up.

  2. Focus on how to get a loan from a bank or develop a new product or service. These are the most important tasks for your business. Rather than management, maintenance or anything else that is time-consuming but does not create value

  3. To start a business, you need three things: a product or service, a group of customers willing to buy it, and a way to make a profit. Any other conditions are optional.

  4. The most important thing is: combine your passion and skills with something useful to others.

10.

In September, I participated in 7 practical sailing trainings, namely technical side business, ChatGPT, product selection, digital nomad, podcast, and Xiaohongshu. I bought some paid communities in the online earning circle and earned some pocket money.

Although most of them know how to play, I still learned a lot and opened up my mind.

Always remind yourself to be humble and not to be blind to the mountain.

If one of these side projects is completed, you can build more passive income every month, which is not much, but it is very satisfying.

More importantly, it keeps me sensitive to making money.

11.

The important thing, let me say it again, is that ChatGPT has been fully integrated into our team, which has greatly improved team efficiency. If you haven’t used it yet, you must use it.

In the AI era, if you don’t use AI, it doesn’t seem to have any impact, but if you improve efficiency by 20-30% compared to others, you will be regressing.

I originally wanted to push down the paid community, but I felt that I was suspected of bringing in private goods, so I wouldn’t recommend it.

If we cooperate with automation related to crawlers, a programmer can really achieve a closed loop of everything.

This is the biggest bonus for programmers in the past few years. I have made some money from it, and I hope you can too.

If you still don’t know how to pay for GPT4 or buy API, you can read this article.

12.

One last word for everyone:

Nothing is as good or bad as it seems on the surface. If you choose the high salary and glamor of a big factory, what you lose is your time freedom and the training of a complete business closed-loop experience; if you choose to start a business, you will face infinitely bad trivial matters. , is the infinite torment of breaking away from the path that suits one's own direction

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day to everyone!
