[Essay Call for Prizes] Prize-winning call for rapid deployment experience on ByConity Cloud

introduction:

At the beginning of June, we shared the method of deploying ByConity on the cloud: " How ByConity scales up and down without any sense on Kubernetes ". Afterwards, we received a lot of feedback and suggestions from users, such as too many components that need to be installed during the deployment process, and the local software and hardware environment. Cause problems such as deployment failure. Therefore, we have made some optimizations and provided a more easy-to-use one-click deployment method. We invite everyone to participate in the " ByConity Rapid Deployment Prize Collection Activity " and have prepared great prizes for everyone!

Rapid deployment on multiple clouds

ByConity supports modular and containerized deployment, can be deployed directly on a Kubernetes cluster, and utilizes the elastic scaling capabilities of Kubernetes for expansion and contraction. ByConity can be deployed not only on Huoshan Cloud, but also on multiple clouds such as Alibaba Cloud, AWS, and Tencent Cloud. This video introduces how ByConity can quickly deploy and scale up on the cloud.

  • Hardware configuration: Users need to purchase and deploy their own Kubernetes cluster. It is recommended that the hardware configuration of the test environment be tested with 10G data TPCDS as shown in Table 1 below without affecting the performance. The configuration of Foundation DB can refer to the official documentation; Production The environment recommends the hardware configuration in Table 2, but it is also necessary to freely adjust the configuration according to the data volume and query requirements.

  • Software Installation:

    • Install the Kubernetes command line tool kubectl locally to manage Kubernetes clusters

    • Locally install helm, the package management tool for managing Kubernetes applications

    • Install byconity-deploy code locally:

Support scenario introduction

ByConity uses a large number of mature OLAP technologies, such as column storage engine, MPP execution, intelligent query optimization, vectorization execution, Codegen, Indexing, and data compression, and is mainly used in OLAP query and computing scenarios. It has very good performance in real-time data access, large-wide table aggregation query, complex analysis and calculation under massive data, and multi-table correlation query scenarios. It is more suitable for the following scenarios:

Event rules and requirements

  1. Use the provided rapid deployment method to complete the installation and deployment of ByConity on the Kubenetes cluster.

  2. After completion, produce relevant test articles and publish them on third-party community blogs, such as InfoQ, Nuggets, CSDN, Zhihu, etc.

    1. Articles must include operational steps & overall process, experience & evaluation of deployment tools

    2. Participating teams and individuals are open and transparent, and GitHub synchronizes information.

Event prizes

Quota: 15 people in total

  • The first 10 participants who meet the requirements and read more than 100 articles will each receive a JD card worth 1,000 yuan.

  • 5 participants who meet the requirements will each receive a JD.com card worth 500 yuan.

  • The statistical time of article reading is based on the deadline of the event

  • Quantity is limited, first come first served

Event time and participation methods

  • Deadline: September 30

  • Participation method: Synchronizing the link on GitHub after the blog is published means participating in the activity (company team + article link). To register, please contact ByConity Assistant
