**01.** Dialogue between Apple and OpenAI restarts: iOS 18 may be equipped with ChatGPT, and Google Gemini is also on the negotiation table
Apple has restarted conversations with OpenAI to explore using its technology to develop new features in the upcoming iOS 18. The two companies have begun discussing the terms of a potential agreement and the integration of OpenAI capabilities. A month ago, Apple was also negotiating with Google to integrate Gemini into iOS 18. Obviously Apple is lagging behind in this AI wave and will have almost no presence in 2023. Apple is expected to release its first generative artificial intelligence product in mid-2024.

**02.** Launched a US$75 million fund and released basic AI courses. Google hopes to help millions of people bridge the AI technology gap.
Google AI Essentials is designed to help people in different roles and industries learn AI skills to make them more productive. No programming skills or other experience required. To ensure that everyone has access to AI training, including this course, Google for Good has launched a $75 million AI Opportunity Fund to provide more than 1 million people with AI skills training.

**03.** Shengshu Technology and Tsinghua University launch the first large-scale video model "Vidu" in China based on purely self-developed U-ViT architecture
Chinese artificial intelligence company Shenshu Technology and Tsinghua University launched Vidu at the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum in Beijing. Vidu is said to be able to create 16-second HD videos at 1080p resolution with just one click and is "very close" to the level of OpenAI Sora. Vidu is almost on par with Sora in terms of multi-camera generation, temporal and spatial consistency, simulation of the real physical world, and imagination.

**04.** Musk’s visit to China may seek to launch a fully autonomous driving system in China
On the afternoon of April 28, Tesla CEO Musk visited China again after nearly a year and met with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang. According to reports, his trip was to explore the possibility of launching Tesla's Full-Self Driving system in China. Musk then said on social media: Tesla will invest approximately US$10 billion this year in AI training and reasoning, with the latter mainly used in cars.
