activity description
Since CloudWeGo was open sourced for more than two years, the community has developed rapidly and the ecology has become increasingly rich. There are more than 40 enterprise users , covering multiple industries such as AI, e-commerce, finance, games , and the Internet. At the same time, as cloud native technology and AI technology continue to flourish, we find that enterprise users are also facing more and more challenges in performance, cost and stability. The system needs to support elastic scaling and stability under tidal traffic, so There is also an increasing need for a high-performance, easy-to-expand, and feature-rich microservice architecture.
Enterprise users and developers are sincerely invited to participate in the CloudWeGo Technology Salon. The event will be held in Shanghai on May 25, 2024 (Saturday) , inviting technical colleagues to discuss how companies can build a cloud-native microservice architecture under the wave of cloud-native xAI to support the rapid iteration and development of products.
- Time: May 25, 2024 (Saturday) 14:00-17:00
- Location: F2, Building D, Caohejing Center, Shanghai
Topic introduction
The topics shared at this event will focus on the implementation of CloudWeGo related technical functions, as well as how to leverage the CloudWeGo open source project to help enterprises build microservices, etc., and will join hands with CSDN, infoQ, Rare Earth Nuggets, Volcano Engine Developer Community, and ByteDance technical team as Partners conduct publicity and live broadcast simultaneously. Several CloudWeGo community maintainers and committers will share topics including comparison and implementation practices of microservice frameworks, as well as engineering practices based on the cwgo code generation tool. In addition, we also invited a number of CloudWeGo user representatives to share their practical experience in implementing CloudWeGo and other exciting topics. Finally, we will also conduct a round-table discussion on hot topics related to microservices and interact with the audience.
Keynote Speech: Microservice Framework Comparison, Testing and Migration
- Lecturer: Zhou Qiheng, CloudWeGo-Kitex Maintainer; Li Jiyun, CloudWeGo-Web&Doc Reviewer, CloudWeGo-Hertz Committer
- Outline: CloudWeGo provides high-performance, highly reliable Go language RPC framework Kitex and HTTP framework Hertz to help users efficiently build a complete enterprise-level microservice architecture. In this sharing, we will compare the CloudWeGo microservice framework and open source frameworks in terms of functions and performance, and show the differences and advantages between Kitex and gRPC, Hertz and Gin. Additionally, we will share operational practices on framework migration and the real-world benefits of migration.
Keynote speech: Microservice implementation practice based on Hertz
- Lecturer: Chu Zeliang, ByteDance Xigua Video R&D Engineer
- Outline: Hertz is a Golang microservice HTTP framework with the characteristics of high ease of use, high performance, and high scalability. In this speech, we will introduce Xigua Video’s microservice implementation practice based on Hertz. We will introduce Xigua Video’s microservice architecture design, introduction to the Hertz framework, Xigua Video’s Hertz migration process and pitfall experience, and the benefits after implementing Hertz.
Keynote speech: Microservice system construction based on Kitex + Istio from 0 to 1
- Instructor: Jason, Construct Server Director
- Outline: In this talk, we will show how to build a microservices architecture from 0 to 1 using Kitex and Istio, explore the rationale for technology stack and architecture choices, and their implementation details. Content will include system compatibility strategies, automated processes, swimlanes, and ensuring microservice observability and stability through monitoring and distributed tracing techniques.
Keynote speech: Engineering practice based on cwgo code generation tool
- Lecturer: Wang Xin, CloudWeGo-Hertz Committer; Lu Ruichao, CloudWeGo-Hertz Reviewer
- Outline: cwgo is a CloudWeGo All in one code generation tool that integrates the advantages of each component (hz, kitex) to improve the developer experience. In this speech, we will introduce cwgo from two aspects of code generation capabilities and engineering practices, and learn how to use cwgo to simplify the code generation process and improve development efficiency, so as to improve the engineering development experience.

Big news, the "CloudWeGo Technical White Paper: ByteDance Cloud Native Microservice Architecture Principles and Open Source Practices" produced by the ByteDance service framework team and the CloudWeGo open source community has now been officially released! This book summarizes the evolution of ByteDance's microservice architecture since 2018. It describes the difficulties of ByteDance's microservice architecture, the selection of programming languages and the evolution of development frameworks, as well as the traffic management model and service network after the traffic surge. The grid is fully implemented. The white paper also introduces in detail implementation cases in e-commerce, AI, finance, and gaming-related industries, and also discusses performance improvement and cost optimization solutions for microservices under the pressure of cost reduction and efficiency improvement. download link:
