The announcement of the Operation Monitoring and Coordination Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology pointed out that in the first eight months of 2024, China's software and information technology service industry (hereinafter referred to as the "software industry") operated well, software business revenue maintained steady growth, total profit growth slowed down, and software business export growth continued to improve.
I. Overall Operation
Software business revenue maintained steady growth. In the first eight months, my country's software business revenue was 8549.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.2%, the same growth rate as the first seven months.
The growth of total profits has slowed down. In the first eight months, the total profits of the software industry were 1022.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%.
The growth rate of software business exports continued to improve. In the first eight months, software business exports reached US$36.25 billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%.
II. Operation Status by Field
Software product revenue grew steadily. In the first eight months, software product revenue was 1911.5 billion yuan, up 8.2% year-on-year, accounting for 22.4% of the industry's total revenue. Among them, industrial software product revenue was 181.1 billion yuan, up 8.2% year-on-year; basic software product revenue was 118.2 billion yuan, up 11.6% year-on-year.
Information technology service revenue continued to grow by double digits. In the first eight months, information technology service revenue was 577.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%, accounting for 67.6% of the industry's total revenue. Among them, cloud computing and big data services achieved a total revenue of 883.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.8%, accounting for 15.3% of information technology service revenue; integrated circuit design revenue was 239.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.8%; e-commerce platform technology service revenue was 780.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%.
The growth of information security revenue continued to slow down. In the first eight months, the revenue of information security products and services was 127.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.0%.
Embedded system software revenue grew steadily. In the first eight months, embedded system software revenue was 731.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.7%.
III. Operation Status by Region
The overall regional software business revenue grew steadily. In the first eight months, the eastern region achieved software business revenue of 713.74 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.4%, the same growth rate as the previous seven months; the central region achieved software business revenue of 396 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.4%, a 0.5 percentage point drop from the previous seven months; the western region achieved software business revenue of 817.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.6%, an increase of 0.3 percentage points from the previous seven months; the northeastern region achieved software business revenue of 198.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9%, a 1 percentage point drop from the previous seven months. The software business revenues of the four regions accounted for 83.5%, 4.6%, 9.6% and 2.3% of the total software business revenue in the country respectively.
The software business revenue in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Yangtze River Delta regions has shown good growth. In the first eight months, the software business revenue in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region reached 2,159.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.9%, 2.7 percentage points higher than the national level; the software business revenue in the Yangtze River Delta region reached 2,404.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.8%, 0.6 percentage points higher than the previous seven months. The software business revenue of the two regions accounted for 25.3% and 28.1% of the national total revenue respectively.
The business revenue share of major software provinces remained stable. In the first eight months, Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong and Shanghai ranked the top five in the country in terms of software business revenue, with year-on-year growth of 13.4%, 12.2%, 8.7%, 12.1% and 12% respectively. The total software business revenue of the five provinces (cities) was 6105.7 billion yuan, accounting for 71.4% of the national share, which was the same as the first seven months .
中心城市软件业务收入保持稳定增长。前8个月，全国15个副省级中心城市实现软件业务收入41091亿元，同比增长10.1%，占全国软件业务收入比重为48.1%，占比较去年同期回落0.5百分点。其中，大连、厦门、深圳、沈阳、武汉和成都等6个城市软件业务收入增速超过全国平均增速。
