Canonical and Ubuntu founder Mark Shuttleworth said in an interview recently accepted in shares his  Linux  views in the desktop area.
When the host asked Mark whether the future of the Linux desktop hopeful, Mark think there is great hope, but after all, Linux users are a group of very professional users, they do not like things neat line, and is keen to build to satisfy their inner favorite things, so vendors need to provide more freedom of choice for developers, such as support for GNOME, Mate and KDE and other desktop environments, and these desktop environment itself is also evolving, and more to the more mature, it is popular.

Then the host asked, Linux on the desktop if there will be chances of success. Mark believes Linux have a chance of success, but if you want to achieve this goal, it means that Linux will be more adapted to the user's habits, but if it were so, the Linux Linux might not. He believes the biggest problem is that we did not invent any strong in the Linux desktop, and beyond what a profound impact on the user's age.

Mark mentioned here Chrome OS, he believes Chrome OS will extend the desktop Web very forward - this is the product had never seen before. Then Mark and took Linux cited examples: "If in the free software community, we only allowed to talk about something already there, this is in his own work is defined as a series of fork and increase the fragmentation of ecology."
