dpdk NIC driver - Personal Learning Record

Dpdk bit of learning

dpdk card using a common step learning

  1. detach card

NIC is a pci device. The default NIC is owned by the kernel to take over, you need to uninstall the card (anti-takeover) down. The card is in no state to take over.

  2. unbind drive

NIC has its own drivers, to interact with the hardware. Need to uninstall the original drive (unbundling) down, the NIC is not driven state.

  3. bind drive

NIC load the new drivers, namely dpdk drive. So that the card uses the new driver to interact with the hardware.

  4. attach the card

The card already loaded a good drive to take over.
