Rclone is a command-line cloud storage synchronization program that allows or access and synchronize files between multiple cloud storage services between the file system and cloud storage services. It has released version 1.49, an increase of four major new back-end, which includes Google Photos, and a new Web UI, as well as a new logo:
The new Google Photos backend
Google Photos is one of the most characteristic of the majority of users want to add, Rclone allowed to use its Google Photos at the back end full access or read-only mode. 1.49 version uses Google Photos API carry out this function, it has some limitations, mainly:
- Only pictures and videos can be uploaded to Google Photos
- Use Rclone uploaded to Google Photos storage media based on the original resolution, so it will calculate your storage quota in google account
- Google Photos API does not currently support uploads of "high quality" mode media
- Compared with the same video using Google Photos web interface download, download video is highly compressed
- Rclone only be able to download the files to create the album, and the album can only be deleted from the file created
Add new back-end configuration, simply run rclone config, you can choose to create a new back-end.
The new Rclone Web UI
The new Rclone Web UI is an experimental, including the following features:
- Dashboard: Rclone display state, global state, set the bandwidth and allowable speed
- Configuration: allows you to add new back-end configuration, update, or delete an existing configuration
- Explorer: Allow Rclone remote browsing configuration (parallel panes has up to 4), and performs file operations, comprising a plurality of cloud storage service / local machine to transfer files between
- Backend: version information and various back-end settings
