Linux started to see whether the command mysql

Use the command

# service mysqld status

or

# service mysql status 

To view the status of start mysql.

If mysqld is stopped it shows mysql service is stopped,
if it shows that mysqld is running mysql service is starting state.

If mysqld is stopped it shows mysql service is stopped,
if it shows that mysqld is running mysql service is starting state.
