Today, we recommend the use Flameshot (fire), because it is my personal favorite screenshot software. If you do not know, Flameshot is a Linux open-source screen capture tool available.
In this article, I will focus on "Flameshot", to help you install, configure it, and special functions offered.
Flameshot properties
Flameshot provides all the basic functionality in Linux screenshot tool is almost required.
Option Notes
The whole point has a third-party screen capture utility that can be annotated images.
You can choose to add an arrow, highlight the text, blurred portions, add text, draw something, add a rectangle / circular frame and add a solid block.
Customization options
In addition to all the useful features, it also enables you to customize the UI, the file name (save screenshot) as well as some general options.
Flameshot installed on Linux
In the configuration Flameshot before, you need to install it on a Linux system.
You may find it in Software Center / Application Center / package manager, simply search for "flameshot" and install it can be.
How to set Flameshot?
Now that you know its characteristic (and probably already have it installed), then how to use it?
Of course, you do not want the search screen capture tool in the list of installed applications.
So, the best way to access it is to press a shortcut key, right?
However, by default, when you press the Print Screen button, it will launch the default screen capture tool (or direct fullscreen screenshot).
Do not worry, you can easily change it. Here's how to set flameshot start press 'F6' button:
1. Go to System Settings, and navigate to the "Device" option.
2. Next, go to the "Keyboard" option. - Add custom shortcuts
3. Now, you need to Prt Sc "would save the screenshot as a picture" of keyboard shortcuts, change to another (a button that you do not often use).

4. When you do this, scroll down in the end section and by clicking on the "+" button to add a new keyboard shortcut.
Option 5. Here, you will get the name of the shortcut (can be any name), and instead of the command must be entered:
flameshot gui
Also, when you set up a shortcut, press the "F6" button. that's it!
Now you should be able to start Flameshot by pressing F6 button.
Few tips
Flameshot Tips
By default, Flameshot save the image in PNG format. So, if you need to JPEG files, you can simply rename the file extension.
You can change its color before adding text / arrow mark click the right mouse button. After the change, even when the next time you use the color remains unchanged. You can change the color again the same way.
If you want to select a custom color (instead of predefined color selection), after you select the area, click the spacebar to take a screenshot.
If you can not access Flameshot configuration options through the application, simply enter "flameshot config" in the terminal.
to sum up
Although there are other methods available to replace Flameshot, but I found it to be the best I use screenshot tool.
