VMwara virtual machine three network modes

VM VM network connection modes are the following:
bridge mode, the NAT, host-only mode, a custom network connection mode;

LAN Virtual Machine is mainly virtual switch created by VMware (also called virtual network) is responsible for implementation,
these virtual networks are based on "VMnet + number" in the form of naming, such as VMnet0, VMnet1, etc.,
when installing VMware, automatically each creating a virtual network for the three kinds of network connection mode: VMnet0 (bridging), VMnet8 (NAT), VMnet1 ( host only).

1. bridge mode - straightforward
virtual network adapter and the host virtual machine's physical network adapter for the handover, the virtual machine virtual network adapter has access to the external network through the host physical network adapters directly;
requires network segment and the host , like a stand-alone computer, will occupy a real IP, can also be exchange of visits and other terminals;

2.NAT Mode - transit
i.e., network address translation, network connection mode is the default, will create on the host private network, between the host and to communicate with each other virtual machines,
a virtual machine and an outer web is forwarded by the NAT host;
virtual machine in the external network does not have to have its own IP address from the external network point of view, the virtual machine and the host in a shared IP address, by default, the terminal can not access the external network to a virtual machine, but can be achieved by manually modifying NAT port settings forwarding;

3. Host Only Mode - closed
more closed than NAT mode, can not access the Internet, to be the same network segment and the host VMnet1 default can communicate with the host,
can also be shared through a proxy or the like connected to the external network connection function;

4. custom network connection is configured
using a virtual network connection assembly WMware provided, can also create a complex virtual network, not consider;

Simply put:
bridging mode and external networks directly connected, NAT mode and connected by a host outside the network, host-only mode and can not connect to external networks.

The image of that:
  bridging mode virtual machine, there is like a "live account" router "Civil Administration" adults have their own separate residential address, though, and hosts live in the same courtyard, but whatever the outcome, there are accounts of people, you can blatantly and directly outside communications.
  NAT mode virtual machine is not been on account of a black family, router "Civil Administration" does not know such a person, naturally, will not take the initiative to communicate with it. Even if the virtual machine occasionally want to send the letter points out, had to host on behalf of the host forwards, the host also specifically requested the old man one called NAT dedicated to letters, receiving matters these virtual machines.
  Only the host mode virtual machine, is purely a thoroughly slaves, not only no account, routers "Civil Administration" do not know such a number of people, is also the main organ in the dark room, even the letters are not allowed out of hair.
