Global Load Balancing (GSLB)

Global Server Load Balancing

Global Load Balancing

SLB (Server load balancing) is within the physical host cluster load balancing and GSLB is a physical cluster load balancing . Here's load balancing may not be simply a uniform flow distribution , but will be based on strategies to achieve application delivery different scenarios different.

The reason to do global load balancing:

High Availability

Faster response time

Multi-version distribution

specific:

1, (disaster recovery) Disater recovery, provide an alternate location of a problem to get the resource, or may provide a simple means to adjust the flow rate, or both, can be provided.

2, (flow rate distribution) Load sharing, distributing traffic based on multiple locations, you can do:

a. Try to save bandwidth

b. limits the ability of a given position

c. limit exposure power, geographical disasters and other issues

3, (resource performance) Performance, resources will be placed closer to the user's place, enhance the user experience.

4, (gray) multiple versions, offering different versions of the resources according to local policy, or according to custom rules to provide a special version provides for specific users, such as gray-scale delivery and so on.
