ISP base (0y): an image sensor

Samsung (Samsung), OmniVision (OV United States), SONY (Sony), SK Hynix (Hynix), Aptina (split with Micron USA), ST Micro (ST), Toshiba (Toshiba), Ge Ke Wei ( China)

2, sensor technology

2.1 color filter array (CFA: Color Filter Array)

Each pixel in the digital cameras are provided with a light sensor for measuring the brightness of light. Since the photodiode is a single color only support apparatus, it can not distinguish between different wavelengths of light. Thus, the upper portion of the camera in the digital camera engineers sensor mounted on a mosaic color filter, a color filter alignment means (CFA), to allow the sensor to distinguish visible light consisting of red, green and blue three primary colors. For more see the following chart:
CFA

Mosaic with GRGB CFA sensors capture only 25% of the red and blue light, green light of 50%.

  • Red Chnnel(25%)     Green Chnnel(50%) Blue Chnnel(25%)

  • We can see from the chart, the image combining three colors and photos not we usually see it has a delicate color, but this is enough to distinguish three different colors of objects on the screen area. Each passage through the interpolation of red, green, and blue channels:

2.2 The types of CFA

In addition to the color filter arrangement is GRGB (CFA), there RGGB, RCCB, RCCC type of CFA, CFA is used in some digital cameras. For example CYGM CFA, CFA use this blue, yellow, green, purple four colors combined with the reduction of the subject principles of color. Quasi-professional digital cameras Sony F-828 will be used CYGM CFA.
Example RCCB:

C does not consider the wavelength of light, the white light. His advantage is to increase the amount of light, so that the SNR can be obtained photographs significantly improved, while increasing the dynamic range.
