Alternate MAC/PHYs (AMP)是蓝牙核心系统的次要控制器（secondary Controllers）。
1、AMP Discovery Procedures
AMP Manager 负责发现 local AMP Controller(s)，并随着时间的推移维护该列表，因为 AMPs 可以动态地从系统中添加或删除。local AMP Manager 可以向 remote AMP Manager 请求一个 AMPs 列表。当 remote device 请求 AMPs 列表后，当 AMPs 被添加或从系统中删除时，local AMP Manager 将通知 remote AMP Manager 进行更改。
每个 AMP 都有一个ID和一个类型。一旦接收到 AMPs 列表，AMP Manager 可能会为每个AMP请求信息(AMP_Info)。
2、Physical Link Creation Procedure（物理链路创建过程）
为了通过 AMP physical link (AMP channel)上的 remote device 设置 L2CAP channel，AMP Manager 首先发现 remote AMP(s)，收集有关 remote AMP(s) 的必要信息，以最佳方式设置 physical link，然后开始创建 physical link。这是通过专用的 L2CAP channel 完成的。
AMP Manager 将收集到的有关 remote AMP 的 remote AMP 信息提供给 local AMP PAL。然后 local AMP PAL 使用这些信息创建AMP physical link 。
3、Logical Link Creation Procedure（逻辑链路创建过程）
一旦存在 physical link，L2CAP 就会创建一个具有所需QoS的 AMP logical link。然后在 logical link 上创建一个 L2CAP channel，此时通道已准备好进行数据通信。
