Foreword

Webots is an open-source three-dimensional mobile robot simulator.

It was originally developed as a research tool to investigate >various control algorithms in mobile robotics.
Since December 2018, Webots is released as an open source software >under the Apache 2.0 license.

This user guide will get you started using Webots.
However, please note the reader is expected to have a minimal >knowledge in mobile robotics, in C, C++, Java, Python or MATLAB >programming, and in VRML97 (Virtual Reality Modeling Language).

We hope that you will enjoy working with Webots {{ webots.version.>major }}.
