Android AOSP 6.0.1 startService启动流程分析

上一节跟踪了 startActivity 启动流程,这一节继续跟踪 startService 启动流程。
startService
上面是 Android 开发者非常熟悉的 Service 生命周期。今天主要分析 startService() 在 Framework 中如何运作。

下面是将要启动的 Service 的源码。

我们知道由于没有单独给 Service 配置运行在另一进程中,它和 Demo App Activity 运行在同一进程中。

在 Activity 中调用 startService 方法,实际上调用 ContextWrapper 的 startService 方法。

ContextWrapper 是 Context 的代理实现,该实现只是将其所有调用委派给另一个 Context。 通过子类化以修改行为,而无需更改原始 Context。mBase 是 Context 类型。在 ContextWrapper 类中,mBase 通过如下构造函数设置,或者通过调用 attachBaseContext 方法设置。

首先要摸清楚 mBase 具体是那个子类?先看一下 Activity 的继承关系。Activity 继承自 ContextThemeWrapper,这个类看样子和 ContextWrapper 有关系。

进入 ContextThemeWrapper ,果然 ContextThemeWrapper 继承自 ContextWrapper。现在已经很明朗了,其一、在 Activity 构造函数中传递 Context,并调用 super 方法给 mBase 赋值;其二、通过调用 attachBaseContext 方法传递 Context。顺着思路一去找,根本找不到 Activity 构造函数,说明系统想要初始化 Activity 是调用了其默认构造器 Activity(),所有只能按照思路二设置 Context 了。

在 Activity 源码中查找 attachBaseContext 方法,很快定位到它。

接下来是一个新的难题,Activity 中 attach 方法又是在什么地方调用?凭直觉它应该在 Instrumentation 类中调用。搜索对应的 attach 方法后找到了它。

其中一个创建 Activity 的方法,context 还是一个形参从外部调用传入;另外一个函数没有传入 Context,说明创建 Activity 对象以后,需要调用它的 attach 方法,自行传递 Context。这个时候不难猜测 newActivity 调用在 ActivityThread 类中发生。搜索 newActivity 方法以后发现其被 performLaunchActivity 函数调用。

发现 Context 对象是调用 createBaseContextForActivity 方法返回的。

createBaseContextForActivity 函数内部继续调用 ContextImpl 的静态方法 createActivityContext 创建 ContextImpl,最后将其返回。

ContextImpl类的作用:Context API 的通用实现,它为 Activity 和其他应用程序组件提供了基础上下文对象。

回到主线,我们在 ContextWrapper 中调用的 startService 实际上最终使用的是 ContextImpl 对象,调用它的 startService 方法,这个方法进一步调用了 startServiceCommon 函数。走到这一步就非常熟悉了,先拿到 ActivityManagerProxy 对象,然后通过 Binder 机制最终调用远程 ActivityManagerService 中的 startService 方法。

以上完全通过逻辑的方法分析,其实完全不用这么麻烦,钉上一句 log,马上就能知道它到底是个什么牛鬼蛇神,我在 Activity attach 方法中加入如下 log 打印。

在 realStartServiceLocked 函数中调用了 ProcessRecord 对象的成员变量 thread(IApplicationThread)的 scheduleCreateService 方法,实际上是拿到 ApplicationThreadProxy 对象调用远程的 ApplicationThread 中的 scheduleCreateService 方法。
