uPaste Apple Mac clipboard tool

The "clipboard history" function has already been added to Windows 10, while macOS requires some third-party clipboard tools to achieve more efficient "CV" operations.

Starting from version 1.2.0, the original "Oka Desktop Clipboard" has been renamed "uPaste Desktop Clipboard". This is a simple and easy-to-use clipboard tool that supports multiple customizations and can also replace desktop notes.

Retro Rainbow Bar & Quick Preview

Unlike other clipboard tools, the uPaste panel is suspended on the edge of the screen in the form of a rainbow bar. Place the mouse pointer on the color bar to view the category name, and click to directly call up the current category history panel. Each color bar is also available Free to adjust the order.

There are seven different tabs by default-"All", "Text", "Link", "Picture", "File", "Notes", "Other", in the "All" column you can view all the clipboard history recording. uPaste can also automatically categorize commonly used text, pictures, links, files and other types of content, making it easy to find targets quickly.

The rainbow bar of uPaste is like a rainbow bookmark for recording when you go to school. The display space of the pasting is very small. You can adjust the size and position in the settings according to your needs, or even set it to automatically hide, and the mouse will automatically display when you move it in.

uPaste supports a powerful preview function. In the clipboard history panel, the original source of the copied content is visually displayed. Click to preview some content types, such as text, pictures, links, videos, etc., and double-click to copy directly .

In the text preview, uPaste provides two modes: plain text and rich text. The copied text styles and pictures in rich text mode can be previewed directly.

Memo and temporary storage

The note function can be regarded as an easter egg of uPaste. The copied content will not be included in the note by default, but you can manually create a new text content and save it in the note as a shortcut desktop note to temporarily record important content.

Creating notes only supports plain text content, but the character counting function provided in the panel is relatively low in usability under Chinese input, and we look forward to further optimization in the future.

Since new categories can be created quickly, and the colors of the rainbow bars can be customized for the new categories to make them more recognizable, uPaste can also be used as a temporary storage tool. It can be said that the value of a clipboard tool is maximized.

After the newly created category is "starred", each subsequent copy of the content will be automatically classified into this category to achieve rapid collection. Of course, you can manually re-categorize the previous history records into the newly created category.

Shortcut keys and quick search

uPaste can also be operated directly without opening the panel through some shortcut keys. The last five copied content records are displayed by default in the menu bar. You can directly use "command+2" to copy the previous clipboard content, and so on. The number of records displayed in the column can display up to 9 records.

After using uPaste for a period of time, the clipboard records will accumulate a lot. If you want to find the past history records based on some keywords, the search function is the best solution. In addition to searching in the panel search bar, you can also directly use the "command+J" key to open the search panel. The method of use is similar to "Spotlight".

Understand the concerns of some users about the privacy of clipboard tools. After all, confidential information such as account passwords are often involved. uPaste does not currently support multi-device synchronization, so the data should also be stored locally. If you have concerns, you can add keychain, 1password and other password-related applications to the filtering rules, uPaste will not record the copied content from these sources.

According to the information disclosed by the developer, uPaste will launch the iOS terminal in the future, and realize multi-terminal synchronization through iCloud, which is good news for users who need to use multiple terminals.
