Competition purpose

MathorCup College Mathematical Modeling Challenge (hereinafter referred to as the competition) is a scientific and technological competition sponsored by the China Association for the Study of Optimal Law and Economic Mathematics (hereinafter referred to as the Research Association). The competition adheres to the purpose of combining mathematics and practice proposed by the founder of the research society, Professor Hua Luogeng. Through the mathematical modeling competition, it will broaden the channels for the society to excavate and cultivate outstanding talents, build a platform to display students' basic academic training, and encourage students to actively participate in extracurricular activities. Scientific and technological activities, improve students' ability to apply theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems in society, broaden students' scientific research horizons, and cultivate innovative spirit, creativity and cooperation awareness.

Registration notice

In order to cultivate students' sense of innovation and the ability to solve practical problems using mathematical methods and computer technology, the China Association for Optimal Methods and Economic Mathematics (hereinafter referred to as the Research Association) has decided to host the 12th MathorCup College Mathematical Modeling Challenge in 2022 ( hereinafter referred to as the competition). The Organizing Committee of MathorCup College Mathematical Modeling Challenge (hereinafter referred to as the Organizing Committee) is specifically responsible for the organization of the competition. All institutions of higher learning are welcome to organize students to register for the competition in accordance with the competition regulations and relevant regulations.

  1. The 2022 competition time is determined to be from 8:00 am on April 14th to 9:00 am on April 18th.

  2. The participants are full-time students in ordinary colleges and universities. Students register for the competition as a team (cross-school teams are not allowed, each team has a maximum of 3 students and a maximum of 1 instructor), and register through the relevant school departments or on the official homepage (http://www.mathorcup.org) For independent registration, the registration deadline is 12:00 on April 13, 2022. After the registration deadline, the registration information cannot be changed.

  3. The competition does not allow cross-school teams, and the full name of each participant and the school where the instructor is located must be filled in completely. The entry fee for each team is 200 yuan.

  4. The competition is divided into postgraduate group, undergraduate group, and specialist group. When registering, please select the group according to the team with the highest educational background.

  5. The number of participating teams in each college is not uniform; the organizing committee will determine the number of first, second and third prizes based on the registration situation (about 5%, 15% and 30% of the total number of successful participating teams, respectively).

  6. There are 4 questions in the competition (question A, question B, question C and question D, among which, students in the graduate group should choose one of questions A and B to complete the answer sheet; students in the undergraduate and junior college groups should choose questions from C and D to complete the answer sheet. You can choose one of them to complete the answer sheet, or you can choose one of the A and B questions to complete the answer sheet). The topics are generally derived from practical problems that have been appropriately simplified and processed in various industries, and participants are not required to master in-depth industry expertise in advance. The topics have greater flexibility for the contestants to exert their creativity.

  7. The competition only needs to submit the electronic version of the paper, and does not need to mail the paper version of the paper; all teams must submit the Chinese version of the paper.

  8. Contest questions will be announced on the official homepage of the competition, the official website of the Research Association, and the competition registration website at the same time when the competition starts. Written questions will not be mailed.

  9. Please read the "MathorCup College Mathematical Modeling Challenge Regulations" carefully before the competition starts, and participate in strict accordance with the competition regulations and competition rules.

2. The post-competition research fund supports 12 teams. The team that wins the first prize can apply to participate in the post-competition research. The organizing committee will make a selection based on the competition results and application instructions. Fund, and then support 3000-10000 yuan of research funds according to the research results, and select 4 teams to win the "MathorCup" trophy.

3. All first prize winners are eligible to apply for the [Gurobi Innovative Application Award] selection. After being reviewed by Gurobi, the first place will receive a cash reward of 5,000 yuan, and the second and third place will receive a cash reward of 2,500 yuan respectively; the top three winners will all receive a certificate of award jointly issued by the competition organizing committee and Gurobi. .

4. All first prize winners are eligible to apply for the [Shanshu Operation Research Optimization Application Fund Award]. After being reviewed by Shanshu Technology Company, the first team of excellence award, with a bonus of 8,000 yuan per team; the third team of excellence award, with a bonus of 4,000 yuan yuan/team.

5. Students who have won the first prize can apply to become a "student member" of the China Association for Optimal Law, Coordination Law and Economic Mathematics according to their personal wishes. For other contest participants who are willing to apply for "Student Membership" of the Research Association, the organizing committee will provide application places.

6. The contestants with excellent performance will be recommended to the company for internship according to their personal wishes.

7. For papers with the first prize and above, you can choose to participate in the guidance of scientific and technological paper writing. According to the quality of the papers, the best ones will be recommended for submission to academic journals.

8. For the award ceremony of this competition, the organizing committee will invite some contestants and representatives of instructors to participate in the award ceremony.
