Pay attention to the stories around the programmer (Yuan) for the first time

The end of the year is always the most difficult time for many people. This year, I am no exception. The team faced sudden layoffs, and the mobile terminal was almost cut off . The reason for layoffs is very simple. The business has stabilized and there is no need to support so many people. . I still remember the grief, anger and helplessness in my heart when the boss asked me to decide on the layoff list. Back then, I tried to get him over as a good brother, but today it is hard to tell him that I want to let him go, and I feel very sorry for him. , but to no avail.

We code farmers always seem to be the ones who are at the forefront but are the first to be abandoned. From the perspective of the company, I can understand this approach. The salary of technology is often not low, but in the eyes of many bosses, input and output are Often not so intuitively proportional. However, from a programmer's point of view, I hope to share with you some of the experience of trying to make myself less hard:

First and foremost, choose small companies carefully.

It's not that small companies are necessarily bad, but we can often find that many startups "focus on technology" in the early stage and focus on business in the later stage . That is to say, in the product development stage, they show how much they value products and technologies, but once When the launch is stable and the market needs to be rolled out, the core technicians of this project often leave their jobs either actively or passively.

The reason is that in the start-up stage, the business model and operation strategy of the project are often very unstable, and it is difficult to grasp a balance between product quality and operation promotion, but technology is often the weaker party , so it is easy to become a project. A punching bag and stepping stone for the market. Of course, I have also encountered many small and beautiful companies, and I have found that these small and beautiful companies often have one characteristic: the founder's resume and literacy are very important. The resume can see the ability of this person, and the literacy can predict the pattern of his future work.

For example, a friend of mine came from a large company in technology. He is very strong in business and technology. Now he is starting a business and doing live broadcast solutions. Although the company is not big, he attaches great importance to technology and products, and abides by integrity. The business is very stable. Even if I fail in the future, I will learn a lot of excellent things by working with him.

Second, try to choose an Internet company with a certain scale that focuses on products or technologies.

Nowadays, many traditional companies try to transform into Internet companies through an app under the banner of Internet+, but a lot of facts tell us that this is basically bullshit, not to say that their transformation is unreliable, but whether they rely on it or not. It is difficult for the programmers to benefit from the spectrum in the end .

Why do you say this? First of all, the probability of success of such a transformation product is very small . If it fails, the project team is basically cut off. If it does well, it will basically become an accessory of the traditional industry after the business is stabilized. Then the programmers are basically cleaned up after a period of idle "maintenance" , these are the lessons of the once bloody forest.

Another point is that it is a common problem. As developers, we must constantly improve our strength and constantly charge ourselves . For example, the current ios market is not good, many companies are facing various pressures on their mobile terminals, and this trend is unlikely to change significantly within a year or two, so should we also be more open-minded and take care of ourselves ? At the same time as your own job, look at what the future development trend is , and learn more about the technologies that are currently or will be popular in the future, which can also be regarded as one more retreat and choice for future transformation.

In the end, I think that even if you really encounter a grind and kill a donkey, the first mentality should be calm.

Who's life has no ups and downs? There was a company that didn't pay me for two months and I survived. Second, I need to quickly contact the outside world and find a good home, so as to turn passive into active. This requires us to build a circle for ourselves in peacetime and work hard to manage it. Isn’t there a saying: The circle determines the pattern. The third is to try to get as much compensation for yourself as possible . I believe that except for those ** bosses who do this kind of thing with peace of mind, most bosses still have some conscience and will give some employees who leave. Compensation, then we must actively strive for more at this time!

In a word: follow the right person, do the right thing, stay hungry, stay foolish!

Do you also have experience working in a startup team?

Contributions are welcome, let's talk about your story

Call for Papers:

①The number of words in the manuscript should be about 800~1500 words. Articles with more than 2,000 words are more troublesome to read on mobile phones, and articles with less than 800 words are not enjoyable.

②You can also attach photos you have taken that are suitable for essay illustrations~If it is inconvenient, the program and Xiaoqi will also help you with pictures~
