FP7195 step-down constant current PWM to analog dimming zero pressure difference high power drive scheme schematic diagram

FP7195 is an LED driver IC with external N-MOSFET. Since FP7195 uses high-voltage terminal current detection, and the IC compensation circuit adopts current mode, it has excellent dynamic response and can simplify the external compensation circuit. FP7195 is produced by high voltage process and can provide 6.5V~80V wide voltage application environment. FP7195 has both digital dimming function and analog dimming (linear dimming) function. The IC has a built-in temperature protection mechanism. When the internal temperature of the IC exceeds the protection value, the output current will begin to decrease linearly.

Buck Application Circuit

Application conditions:

Input voltage = 12V~80V

Output LED Voltage = 9V

Output LED Current = 1A

Dimming range: 0.1%~100%

C1: Input capacitor, the capacitor value is determined by the output wattage, keep the input voltage not lower than the shutdown voltage of FP7195.

C2: Output capacitor, to reduce the output current ripple, it is recommended to use a chip capacitor (MLCC), if using an electrolytic capacitor, it is recommended to connect a 0.1uF chip capacitor (MLCC) in parallel.

R1, C10, C11: Loop compensation circuit, empty connection may lead to unstable output.

C7: Internal circuit voltage stabilizing capacitor, the recommended value is 1uF, it should be as close as possible to the IC to ensure the best voltage stabilizing effect.

RCS: Output current setting resistor, it is recommended to be as close to the IC as possible to reduce the output current detection error.

ROC: provide IC for current loop compensation.

D1: output filter diode, it is recommended to use Schottky diode to reduce the power loss on the diode.

L1: This inductor provides the circuit loop energy storage/discharge and filtering functions. The larger the output wattage, the thicker the wire diameter; the inductance will directly affect the output

Output current ripple, the larger the inductance, the smaller the current ripple, it is recommended to use 47uH~100uH.

*option: If the output needs short-circuit protection, it is recommended to add a Schottky tube to discharge the output capacitor discharge current.

Dimming instructions

FP7195 supports PWM digital dimming function and analog dimming, which can control the output current from 0.1% to 100%. Pulling the voltage of DIM pin below 0.05V for more than 20ms can make FP7195 enter the sleep mode with low power consumption. As long as the voltage of DIM pin is pulled more than 0.1V, FP7195 will wake up again. If you do not use the dimming function, please make sure to give the DIM pin a voltage greater than 2.6V.

digital dimming

FP7195 can support PWM digital dimming. Just input a digital signal with a frequency of 500Hz~200kHz at the DIM pin and control the duty cycle of the PWM digital signal to control the output current from 0.1% to 100% (reference voltage 0.1mV~100mV ). The high-potential voltage of PWM can accept 2.6V~5V. After the high-potential part enters the IC, it will be processed to 2.5V. Finally, the IC will process the signal into a DC voltage for regulation. The PWM duty cycle (Duty) and the output current percentage (ILED(%)) conversion formula is as follows:

 analog dimming

FP7195 also supports analog dimming (DC dimming), as long as 0.1~2.5V is input at the DIM pin, the output current can be controlled

0.1%~100% (reference voltage 0.1mV~100mV). The conversion formula of DIM pin voltage (VDIM) and current percentage (ILED(%)) is as follows:
