1. Task

Design and produce a moving target control and automatic tracking system. The system includes a red spot position control system that simulates target movement and a green spot position control system that indicates automatic tracking. The system structure and placement are shown in Figure 1(a). In the picture, two laser pointers are fixed on separate two-dimensional electronically controlled platforms.

  • The light spot emitted by the red laser pointer is used to simulate a moving target. The light spot falls on a white screen 1m away from the front, and the light spot diameter is ≤1cm. The red spot position control system controls the spot to move arbitrarily within the screen.
  • The light spot emitted by the green laser pointer is controlled by the green spot position system and is used to automatically track the red light spot on the screen to indicate the automatic tracking effect of the target. The spot diameter is ≤1cm. The green laser pointer is placed as a line segment as shown in Figure 1(b). This line segment is parallel to the screen and located on both sides of the red laser pointer. The distance from the red laser pointer is greater than 0.4m and less than 1m. The green laser pointer is placed randomly on the two placement line segments.
  • The screen is white and the effective area is greater than 0.6╳0.6m2. Use a pencil to draw a square with a side length of 0.5m in the center of the screen to mark the edge of the screen; the center of the drawn square is the origin, use a pencil to draw the origin position, and the width of the pencil trace is ≤1mm.

2. Requirements

1. Basic requirements

  • 1) Set the motion target position reset function. By executing this function, the red light spot can return to the origin from any position on the screen. The error between the spot center and the origin is ≤2cm.
  • 2) Start the moving target control system. The red light spot can move clockwise along the perimeter of the screen within 30 seconds, and the distance between the center of the spot and the edge during movement is ≤2cm.
  • 3) Use black electrical tape about 1.8cm wide to stick a rectangle along the four sides of the A4 paper to form the A4 target paper. Paste this A4 target paper at a custom position on the screen. When the moving target control system is activated, the red light spot can move clockwise along the tape within 30 seconds. No points will be scored for overtime. 2 points will be deducted if the light spot completely detaches from the tape once, and 0 points will be recorded if the light spot continuously detaches from the tape and moves more than 5cm.
  • 4) Paste the above A4 target paper at any position on the screen at any rotation angle. To start the motion target control system, the requirements are the same as (3).

2. Play part

  • 1) Reset the moving target position, start the automatic tracking system with one click, control the green light spot to track the red light spot within 2 seconds, and issue continuous sound and light prompts if the tracking is successful. At this time, the distance between the centers of the two light spots should be ≤3cm.
  • 2) The moving target repeats the basic requirements (3) ~ (4). The emitter end of the green laser pointer can be placed anywhere on the line segment, and the moving target and automatic tracking system are activated at the same time. The green light spot can automatically track the red light spot. 2 seconds after starting the system, the tracking should be successful and a continuous sound and light prompt will be issued. Thereafter, when the distance between the centers of the two light spots is greater than 3cm during the tracking process, it is defined as tracking failure and 2 points will be deducted at a time. Continuous tracking failure for more than 3 seconds will be scored as 0 points. Both the moving target control system and the automatic tracking system need to set a pause button. Press the pause button at the same time, the red and green light spots should stop immediately so that the distance between the centers of the two light spots can be measured.
  • 3) Others.

3. Description

  • 1) The red and green light spot position control systems must be independent of each other and must not communicate in any way; the light spot diameter is less than 1cm; there are no electronic components on the screen; the control system cannot use desktop computers or laptops. No testing will be performed if the requirements are not met.
  • 2) If you do not score the basic requirements (3) and (4), you will not be tested in the performance part (2).
